This article is not to teach you how to lose weight fast, but to lose weight effectively and naturally. Why do you think people who go on a diet lose weight really fast but cannot maintain it, and put it back on in no time? That is because your body is not used to sudden changes like skipping meals or a total change of diet. The sudden loss in calories will trigger your body to make up for the deficiency, causing stronger hunger pangs which may even lead to depression.
One good news is that you should be eating more often! Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner - please have all of that, however make your portions smaller. Bit by bit, reduce each serving by say 2 tablespoons per week. Do it slowly and steadily so that your tummy gets comfortable with the reduction over time.

If you try to change yourself and your habits too fast, you are setting yourself up for failure and relapse. Instant gratification does not work when it comes to losing weight. You may be able to get a big initial weight loss but what good is it to drop ten pounds in two weeks only to gain it all back in the following couple of weeks? That is a waste of your time and undermines your self esteem. Not only that, it is bad for your health to yo-yo your weight around. There is a better way to go about losing weight so you can take it off more slowly and then keep it off for the long term

The graduating class of 1953 was surveyed and asked about their goals for the future. Only 3% had firm goals that were written down. The rest of the class had wishes and hopes but not firm goals. Fast forward twenty years to when the class was surveyed once again. The three percent of graduating seniors went on to become worth more than all of the other 97% of their classmates put together.
Do you measure and track your progress?
Once you have established a realistic goal, how will you know when you meet it or how well you are progressing toward it if you don't take regular measurements? Set up a specific time each week when you will weigh yourself and take measurements on your waist hips. It only takes a couple of minutes but will tell you a lot about how well your weight loss plan is coming along.
Do you have a plan for reaching your goal?
If you fail to plan then you plan to fail. It may sound trite but it is true in many cases and especially so when it comes to weight loss. You need a well thought out plan that includes a healthy diet and exercise routine so you can burn off fat and establish a new healthy lifestyle that will allow you to keep it off for good.
